This is a new Blog with no true direction. We'll talk about NASCAR, politics, friends, whatever. I only request when we disagree that we are not disagreeable. This is for fun!

Time to start blogging again.

Today I watched as the fatcat bailout bill went down to defeat. Part of the reason it was defeated was because the Republicans took offense at Nancy Pelosi's speech. Their widdle feelings wuz hurted so instead of being concerned about the country, they got concerned about their feelings and voted against the bill. Barney Frank said that if he was given the names of those who had their feelings hurt, he would go see them and be uncharacteristically nice to them.

Mighty Mouse flew in last Thursday to save the day and get the Republican Congress on board. That didn't work. I think it is because he has no more respect from those folks than Bush does. It is time for Americans to elect a majority of Democrats to Congress and to elect a Democratic President, Barack Obama. The Republicans have taken our country to the brink of disaster and we can only hope we can hang on until the new congress and president are in office. They will have a difficult road ahead, but I hope they do the right thing by America and not by their fatcat contributors.

I am a Democrat and this is my blog. If you disagree and can do it without being derisive or condescending and without curse words, your comments are welcome. If not, you might as well save your time because your comments will not be posted. Nasty, contemptuous posts aren't welcome.

Weather in No. MN and NASCAR

Mikey says that NASCAR owns the car numbers and when he left DEI, he asked for the 15 for his new cars. DEI said they had a use for the number - a new driver for the car - and NASCAR said they could keep it. He says that NASCAR will not appreciate it if DEI 'sells' the 8 to Hendrick Motorsports for Dale Earnhardt, Jr. If DEI has another driver coming into the car, NASCAR will let them keep it. But if they are keeping it for meanness or to try to get money from Rick Hendrick, NASCAR may just take the number from Step-Mommy Dearest.

Lots of rain today and a little thunder. It is clearing up now and is supposed to be nice on Tuesday.

Today was a good day and tomorrow will be also. I don't know how much longer I will live. I could keel over with a heart attack tomorrow or even tonight so I will enjoy every moment of every day that I have left.

TRB and other things

I guess, since my blog is now accessible by TRB posters, I should give those who migrate here something to read. It has been a long time since I even considered blogging. Now TRB may push me into being serious about it!

The weather today was ugly at times. I missed most of the NASCAR pre-race stuff because when it rains really hard, I lose my satellite reception. The thunderstorms were loud and wet, but cleared up before the race started thank goodness. I did get to see Jeff Gordon (My #1 Favorite Driver) interviewed. Missed the interview of Brian Vickers (#2 Favorite Driver) after he was crashed out in the mess started by Ryan Newman and Jeff Green. Why, oh why was Newman driving like it was the last lap of the last race?

Think I'll watch some news this week - I've been trying to not do so because I get so angry at the politicians who are treating our soldiers like ping pong balls and toys while those brave young people are dying or coming home badly injured physically or mentally.

Pray for the men and women who are in harm's way in the illegal war in Iraq or the war for freedom in Afghanistan.

Today I watched...

...Kerry Earnhardt win the pole for the Craftsman Truck Race at Daytona. The race will be run tomorrow. I wish him luck. I think that we also saw Bill Lester set up his best start in a truck race. Because the two drivers in the second and third spots have to go to the back of the field because they changed their engines, I think Bill will start on the outside pole. Good job to the 22 team.

I saw Kevin Harvick cause a big crash in one of the Gatorade 150's...a crash that took out several cars and upset a lot of drivers and fans. Of course, if you ask Kevin it wasn't his fault, it was Jimmy Johnson's fault.

All of this, of course, I saw on television because I'm in California and the races are in Florida. Next year, I hope to go to the Daytona 500!

This is my first post to my new blog. Not sure if I'm going to like doing it, but we'll see.
